Understanding Websites: Never Miss A Lead

Websites can be valuable in many ways. They are great tool for showcasing previous work and client testimonials. They can also help build your reputation and allow your customers to know more about you and your business. While that’s all well and good, that’s not the main purpose of your website. The main purpose of your website should be to win you more work. That’s why it’s so important for you to never miss a lead. Let’s take a look at a few ways of how your website can help you!

CTA and Contact

One of the most effective tools in converting a visitor on your website into a customer is something called a ‘call-to-action’. A ‘call-to-action’, or CTA, is a direct invitation to a website visitor to act. Good examples of CTA include ‘Subscribe’, ‘Call’ and ‘Request a Quote’. These CTA should guide the customer to the desired outcome, which is to hire your services. Be sure to use urgent language for your CTA. You will want it to be featured on the homepage, above the fold (without having to scroll down) and for it to be clearly visible. You can do this by using contrasting colours, such as using a green or an orange on a dark background.

Some customers will want to get in touch over the phone and other customers will prefer to send an email or fill out a contact form. Cater for both sets of needs. Your contact information should be featured in a place which is both accessible and obvious for a website visitor. You should also include a custom enquiry form so that people can contact you without having to pick up the phone.

You can also use emails to make customers aware of any special offers you may have.

It’s unrealistic to expect that all trade professionals are going to be checking their emails throughout the day. That why it’s so important to have SMS alerts in place every time you have a new lead through your website.
